The New Mexico, also known as the “Land of Enchantment”, is a state in the Southwest of America. This state was a former Spanish colony after the arrival of the conquistadors in the sixteenth century.
It also became a Mexican colony which had lasted during the American- Mexican War in 1940. It achieved its statehood in 1912. The Central New Mexico, Southeast New Mexico, North Central New Mexico, Southwest New Mexico, Northeast New Mexico and Northwest New Mexico.

The Central New Mexico is located along the Valley of Middle Rio Grande and it is where Albuquerque is situated. This region holds most of the population of the state. The Southwest New Mexico is considered as the lowest region in terms of elevation and is mostly deserted.
The North Central Mexico is mountainous and houses some of the New Mexico’s tourist destinations like Taos and Santa Fe. The Southwest New Mexico is much of the state’s agricultural production. The Northeast New Mexico serves as the meeting point of the Great Plains and Rocky Mountains. Lastly, The Northwest New Mexico has several extraordinary geologic formations.
New Mexico houses many different cities including Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Silver City, Taos, Roswell, Farmington, Alamogordo, Las Cruces and Las Vegas. Santa Fe is the capital city of the state. It is also considered as the primary destination for the tourists in the state. It boasts of its rich history, scenic architecture, and wonderful culture and arts. Albuquerque is the largest city in the New Mexico and it is considered as the state’s commercial center.
